We’ve grown used to seeing UN Secretary-General António Guterres beclown himself in his efforts to undermine the state of Israel while pretending to take a “both sides” attitude toward the recently escalated conflict. You will recall the UN’s repeated calls for a ceasefire on “both sides” while Israel was the target of repeated attacks from Hamas, then Hezbollah, and now Iran itself. This week he upped the ante yet again shortly after Iran fired hundreds of missiles into civilian population centers inside of Israel. Guterres condemned the “escalation” of the attacks and demanded a ceasefire yet again. But who does he expect to “cease firing” in this scenario? The country launching unprovoked attacks or the one where roughly one million civilians were sent fleeing to bomb shelters to wait out the assault? (Townhall)
