Award-winning actress Jean Smart believes that upcoming award shows should not be broadcast and networks should use the money to aid fire victims in California instead.
The 73-year-old star, who just took home the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy at the awards ceremony on Sunday for her role in “Hacks,” shared her thoughts in an Instagram post Wednesday night.
“Attention! With ALL due respect, during Hollywood’s season of celebration, I hope any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider NOT televising them and donating the revenue they would have garnered to victims of the fires and the firefighters,” the celebrity shared with her followers.
Smart didn’t specify which shows she was referring to. In the next few months, the Academy Awards, the Critics Choice Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards are all scheduled…
