On Wednesday, it was refreshing to find out that Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito had effectively told his Democrat/media critics to go jump in a lake in response to the nontroversy surrounding flag flying that took place at his Virginia home and New Jersey beach house for short stints in 2021 and 2023 respectively.
“A reasonable person who is not motivated by political or ideological considerations or a desire to affect the outcome of Supreme Court cases would conclude this event does not meet the applicable standard for recusal,” Alito wrote in a letter to Judiciary Committee Sens. Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) while also pointing out that his wife, Martha-Ann, was an American citizen who had the right to express her opinions.
