An illegal alien from near the Middle East was arrested last week in North Carolina after opening fire at a business and subsequently attacking law enforcement officers.
Awet Hagos, 32, was charged in Gates County with three counts of assault on a government official, three counts of resisting a public officer, and one count of carrying a concealed weapon with more potential charges forthcoming.
Police were called to a Quick Stop convenience store where they discovered Hagos discharging a firearm, according to The Roanoke-Chowan News-Herald. The suspect allegedly attacked law enforcement and managed to fight off tasers that that sheriff’s deputies used on him
As he fled to his residence — where he remained barricaded for hours — he allegedly tried to take a sheriff’s deputy’s rifle.
