A 14-year-old girl in Franklin County, Alabama, found out that her father had a social media account she believed he was using to have an affair and told her mother. When her father found out, he brutally beat her, according to police.
The girl, who has not been named because she is a minor, ran from her home to ask neighbors for help. The neighbors noticed “obvious injuries” on the girl and called police, telling them a father was attacking his daughter, WHNT reported. Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies went to the girl’s home and found her father, Christopher Andrighetti, hiding in a bedroom closet and bleeding from what police described as “self-inflicted lacerations” to his arms and waist.
When police arrived to the trailer park where the girl lived, they found broken beer bottles, a broken Nintendo Switch, and drops of blood outside the front door. Deputies forced their way into the home and found it in “disarray,” with the TV destroyed and laptops broken and ripped apart. Items from the kitchen were also thrown around, as well as furniture and clothes from the kids’ bedrooms, WHNT reported.
Andrighetti was arrested before police searched the premises to find two other child victims, finding one hiding in a closet.
The teenager reportedly told police that her father punched her and hit her with a shower curtain rod and piece of wood. She said he also threw her to the ground, slapped her, and threw things including glass bottles at her.
After the beating, the teenager said, her father ordered her to clean up the mess. She went to the kitchen pretending to grab a trash bag but ran out the front door to the neighbor’s house.
The teenager was taken to the hospital to receive treatment for her injuries. Andrighetti has been charged with first-degree domestic violence, assault, child abuse, and second-degree domestic violence, according to jail records. He’s being held at the Franklin County Detention Center on a $200,000 bond.
