Alec Baldwin Requests ‘Fair And Speedy’ Trial For ‘Rust’ Shooting To ‘Minimize Public Vilification’

Alec Baldwin’s legal team has requested a quick trial following his indictment on charges of involuntary manslaughter earlier this month.

The 65-year-old actor was involved in a 2021 shooting incident that left “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins dead and the movie’s director, Joel Souza, injured.

Baldwin has adamantly insisted that he never pulled the gun’s trigger. The actor was previously charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter on January 31, 2023, but the charges were later dropped in April 2023.

New charges were filed in January 2024. 

“Mr. Baldwin is entitled to a fair and speedy disposition of the charges to minimize public vilification and suspicion and to avoid the hazards of proving his innocence that often arise after lengthy delays in a prosecution,” documents obtained by Fox News Digital said.
