President Joe Biden called into Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign on Monday, the first time anyone has heard from him in days, and he slurred his words and sounded hoarse as he declared that he was going to be campaigning for Harris.
The remarks from Biden come after he announced in a written statement on Sunday that he was dropping out of the presidential race and that he was endorsing Harris to replace him as the party’s nominee.
The 81-year-old, who currently has COVID, called into the recorded event and thanked those who have been working on his campaign as it’s faced weeks of pressure from the media and members of the Democrat Party.
“I’ve been honored and humbled,” he said. “I mean this from the bottom my heart, my word as a Biden, for all you’ve done for me and my family. And you, we built the best campaign in organ–, organization in history….
