If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em—that seems to be Donald Trump’s attitude as he signed up for the social media site TikTok despite earlier wanting it banned because of its Chinese Community Party influence and the possibility of rampant spying on American citizens by the CCP.
Biden has faced a similar conundrum, and while he hasn’t signed up for a personal account, his campaign made a profile five months ago. But in yet another slap in the face to the befuddled president’s reelection efforts, the GOP presumptive nominee quickly smashed Biden’s follower totals in just one day:
By the numbers: Trump’s video had racked up 2.2 million likes and over 38 million views as of 1:15 ET Sunday.
Trump’s account has gained 2.1 million followers since last night’s launch. That’s more than six times the followers of the Biden campaign’s account, which launched in February.
