New photos of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus with his current partner Firerose has many fans believing they’re taking their relationship to the next level.
The 61-year-old musician announced earlier this year that his wife of 28 years, Tish Cyrus, had filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” They had been married since 1993 but have separated and reconciled several times before.
Recently Cyrus has been posting photos of himself with Firerose, who appears to be around the same age as his 29-year-old daughter Miley. Firerose’s exact age is unknown.
In a September 13 Instagram post, the Australian singer was wearing what many fans speculated was an engagement ring.
“Congrats Papaw!” one of the top Instagram comments says along with a diamond ring emoji.
“Nice engagement ring congrats,” another one says.
“Happy Autumn and Congratulations! it’s wonderful to see your smile…,” a third fan shared.
Cyrus has not confirmed if the couple is actually engaged. The caption of the most recent Instagram post just says, “Happy Autumn.”
The pair previously collaborated on the song “New Day” in 2021, and after that they started appearing on each other’s social media pages.
“The world is a better place with you in it,” Firerose shared on Instagram in honor of Cyrus’s 61st birthday this August. “Happy Birthday Billy.”
“They’ve been dating for a little while,” a source told People. “They grew close while working on music together. It is what it is. He and Tish were over before he started dating her.”
The country star allegedly knew the singer a decade ago when she was even younger. “We actually met 10 years ago on the set of Hannah Montana,” Firerose said of her relationship with Billy Ray during a 2021 interview.
“And Billy Ray’s been a phenomenal supporter of my music ever since. He’s just really believed in me and continued to tell me to pursue my dreams no matter what. The music industry’s not easy, but he’s been just a really incredible support,” he added.
