A Chicago police officer is suing the city to change his race from “white” on official records after the police department started allowing cops to change their gender identity.
Mohammad Yusuf, 43, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit last week saying that he wants to change his race on police records from “Caucasian” because he “currently identifies as Egyptian and African American.”
“Yusuf wishes to correct the racial designation listed on his police personnel file, which currently indicates that he is Caucasian, to accurately reflect his race, as North African,” the lawsuit reads.
The Chicago Police Department has refused Yusuf’s request, he claims.
