A Chicago woman who helped kill her mother and stuff her body into a suitcase while on vacation on Indonesia’s tourist island of Bali has been sentenced.
Heather Mack, 27, pleaded guilty last June to her role in the 2014 murder of her mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack. On Wednesday, Mack was sentenced to 26 years in prison, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Mack, who was 18 and pregnant at the time of her mother’s murder, was convicted of the crime in Indonesia in 2015 and sentenced to 10 years in prison, NBC News reported last year. After serving seven years for the crime, she was deported back to the U.S. and immediately arrested by U.S. authorities.
