CNBC aired a fawning, 10-minute-long, Soviet-style interview with leftist billionaire Bill Gates on raising capital to combat climate change and promote the woke environmental, social and governance (ESG) regime across America. The two-star CNBC reporters tasked to Gates, of course, didn’t ask the woke billionaire a single challenging question.
“Some of the biggest venture capitalists in the world are gathering today in Seattle for a first-of-its-kind climate summit,” CNBC reporter Brian Sullivan gushed on the Oct. 18 edition of CNBC show The Exchange. “It is hosted by Bill Gates’s Breakthrough Energy, which has already funded close to a hundred climate-related startups.”
CNBC pointed out that Gates has teamed up with BlackRock CEO Larry Fink, venture capitalist Vinod Khosla, investor John Doerr and “members of the Biden administration.”
Breakthrough Energy is a “set of investment funds” charged with executing Gates’s newest environmental grand plan, aimed at eliminating carbon emissions across the globe. “We need to go from 51 Billion tons of emissions per year to Zero,” the organization’s website proclaims.
To put that in perspective, the U.S. Energy Information Administration “estimates that in 2019, the United States emitted 5,130 million metric tons of energy-related carbon dioxide,” per the U.S. Geological Survey website.
Yet instead of asking why Gates is weaponizing billions of dollars to fight the specter of climate change and eliminate the emissions of not just the U.S. — but the entire world — CNBC senior climate reporter Diana Olick lobbed softball after softball question at Gates.
She even asked if Gates and Fink were having a hard time because of climate change critics. “How hard is it for folks like him and folks like you who are investing to get this kind of criticism no matter what you do?” Olick asked.
Yes, really. A CNBC reporter asked the world’s fifth richest man with a net worth of over $100 billion, according to Forbes, if reasonable criticism hurt his feelings.
Olick also pushed ESG standards during her interview with Gates.
“There are people claiming that they are going to offset their emissions by planting more trees, et cetera,” she said. “How much is this companies talking the talk, or do you believe that they’re all really walking the walk?”
She followed up with an authoritarian line of questioning on ESG regulations.
“Do we need more regulation, at least in the U.S., because it seems like this kind of like this Wild West of climate math going on?” Olick said. “Should we start to see that regulation?”
It’s worth noting that voters have never elected Gates to political office. He is a tech billionaire.
Conservatives are under attack. Contact ABC News at 818-460-7477, CBS News at 212-975-3247 and NBC News at 212-664-6192 and demand they ask serious questions about why woke billionaires like Bill Gates and Larry Fink are funneling money into anti-American, anti-energy, climate change policies.
