Co-Host Joins Audience, Boos Conservative On ‘The View’ For Saying GOP Could Win In Midterms

The audience – and even one or two of her co-hosts — broke into boos on Thursday when Republican host Alyssa Farah Griffin said that her party could win big in next Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Griffin and her co-hosts began Thursday’s broadcast of the ABC midday talk show “The View” with a conversation about the midterms – which are just a few days away — and what messages Democrats and Republicans were sending out to get their voters to the polls.

Griffin began by praising President Joe Biden’s Wednesday speech — during which he once again blamed Republicans for the vicious attack on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul — saying, “I think Biden’s speech was important, there wasn’t a word I disagreed with.”

“But I agree with David Axelrod, senior adviser to President Obama, that it was the wrong closing message for Democrats. That clip we played of Obama — that’s what Democrats should have been saying for the last six months if they want to win the midterms,” Griffin continued.

“Like — I regret to say, you know, I know this is not what the audience wants to hear, but I think there’s going to be a red wave, and I think it’s because Democrats have said things like —” Griffin continued, but was interrupted by a chorus of boos from the audience – and co-host Joy Behar joined in as well.

“Democrats have said things: inflation is a global phenomenon — well, that doesn’t help me put food on my table; the war in Ukraine is to blame for high gas prices — that doesn’t help me fill my tank,” Griffin added. “So folks are voting on a referendum …”

“So we should just lie to people?” co-host Sunny Hostin interrupted.

“No, they’re voting on a referendum on the party in power,” Griffin clarified, prompting immediate outrage from co-host Whoopi Goldberg.

Goldberg argued that it couldn’t really be a referendum on Democrats because they were the only ones who were doing anything at all.

“But [voters] don’t feel it,” Griffin pushed back.

Goldberg went on to claim that journalists were helping the Republican Party by suppressing the achievements coming out of President Joe Biden’s White House and Democrats in Congress, arguing that media only likes to cover the bad things.
