Dallas Police Officer Killed, 2 Others Wounded In Shootout

A Dallas Police Department officer was shot and killed on Thursday night, and two others were wounded by a suspect who was later shot dead by law enforcement.

Dallas police responded to an officer in distress at around 10:00 p.m. and found him “shot in a marked squad car,” Fox News reported. Police “exchanged gunfire with a suspect at the scene,” and two other officers were wounded, including one who is in critical condition.

After shooting and killing the police officer, the suspect fled in a vehicle and drove around 30 miles away to Lewisville. Responding officers chased the suspect, and the pursuit ended with the suspect exiting his car with a long gun before he was shot and killed by police officers.
