‘Days Of Our Lives’ Actor Reported Missing In Hawaii

“Days of Our Lives” actor James Lastovic, 27, has been reported missing in Hawaii along with his roommate, 26-year-old Nevin Dizdari, according to Lastovic’s mother.

Lastovic played recurring character Joey Johnson on the long-running daytime drama from 2015-17, and reprised the role again in 2020.

The actor’s mother, real estate agent Lucienne Lastovic, shared a desperate plea for help via Instagram early on Tuesday, noting that the two had been expected to fly home and had both missed their flight and failed to return their rental car — actions that she said were out of character for her son and his roommate.

Her caption began in all capital letters: “MISSING: JAMES LASTOVIC & NEVIN DIZDARI: PLEASE REPOST. PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO ANYONE YOU KNOW IN KAUAI. HAWAII.”

“MY SON James AND HIS ROOMMATE Nevin ARE MISSING!” Lastovic’s caption continued. “These 2 young adults stayed over at the Hanalei Bay Resort this past Friday Oct 7, Saturday Oct 8, and yesterday, Sunday Oct 9. They were due to fly back today but never made their flight nor returned their rental car. Tthis is NOT LIKE THEM! They are both conscientious kids.”

Lastovic’s mother went on to say that the two had been heard from on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. — when they texted their hostess at the resort, Carrie Flanders. Flanders last saw them earlier that morning, around 8 a.m. local time.

According to Lastovic, the two had been inquiring about a couple of tourist spots prior to their departure from the resort, noting that they had asked for information about a hiking trail and a spot known for cliff diving.

“IMPORTANT: They asked for info about KOKEE state PARK so they could take the long trail hike. They also asked her directions to Shipwrecks Beach to the Cliff diving area,” Lastovic added. “They never returned back to the resort last night. They left all their belongings at the resort which are now in the police’s posession.”

“If you know ANYONE in Kauai, PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG,” Lastovic concluded, adding contact information for herself and for local police — and asking anyone who was available if they would be willing to go out to Kokee State Park to aid in search efforts.
