It has often been noted about hypocritical “defund the police” proponents in the Democratic Party that what elected officials who call for this never tell their constituents is that even if police funding is cut in their community, those same members of Congress would still have taxpayer-funded security – and private security, which of course would be funded by the tax dollars they are paid for the purported work they do.
We saw this play out in 2021 with Squad member Cori Bush (D-Mo.), who after being exposed as a defund the police hypocrite went on to defiantly tell the public she didn’t care that she’d gotten caught.
“So if I end up spending $200,000, if I spend 10, 10, 10 more dollars on it, you know what, I get to be here to do the work,” Bush said at the time. “So suck it up and defunding the police has to happen.”
