Dem Senator Raphael Warnock On Abortion: ‘Even God Gave Us A Choice’

U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) said at a rally in Atlanta for seniors this week that “even God gave us a choice” regarding abortion.

Fox News reports that Warnock, the self-described pro-choice pastor, took time at the rally to speak about his support for a woman’s right to choose whether or not to terminate an innocent child’s life.

“I have a profound reverence for life,” Warnock said. “And I also have a deep respect for choice.”

In the same breath, Warnock called the patient’s room “too narrow and cramped” for a woman, her doctor, and the United States government.

As a pro-choice pastor, I’ve always believed that a patient’s room is way too small for a woman, her doctor, and the United States government.

I’ll always fight to protect a woman’s right to choose. And that will never change.

“So, I trust women in their wisdom to sit with their own doctor and, if they choose, to sit with their pastor, and to pray about that and let their own conscience guide them,” Warnock added. “Even God gave us a choice.”

Warnock received heavy criticism from the Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America group, slamming his extreme view on abortion.

“Senator Raphael Warnock strenuously opposes any limits whatsoever on abortion – including brutal late-term abortions up to the moment of birth and even infanticide,” Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the group, said in a statement. “Georgians are deeply disturbed by Warnock’s shameless push to strip human rights from the most vulnerable and defenseless among us, the unborn.”

Dannenfelser added that pro-abortion Democrats like Warnock and Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams would “go to any lengths to promote abortion on demand nationwide.”

“Whether it is cloaking their radical agenda in the guise of religion or pushing outright misinformation denying basic scientific facts – for example, that unborn children have beating hearts by six weeks and can feel pain at least by 15 weeks,” Dannenfelser added.

Both Georgian politicians have joined an army of other Democratic candidates who have lobbied for abortion rights following the U.S. Supreme Court’s historic decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which has led to more than 63 million abortions in the country since 1973, according to the National Right to Life Educational Foundation.

In a recently surfaced video, Abrams said that at six weeks, unborn babies’ heartbeats aren’t real, but a “manufactured sound designed” to take away women’s rights.

Immediately following her statement, Abrams also received wide criticism from doctors and scientists refuting her claim.

Dr. Tara Sander Lee, a senior fellow and director of life sciences at Charlotte Lozier Institute, said science demonstrates that a pre-born baby is already a complex human being at six weeks gestation.

“A pre-born baby’s heart is actively beating at six weeks and will have already beat nearly 16 million times by 15 weeks. In fact, at six weeks gestation, the baby’s heart rate is about 98 beats per minute, which can be easily detected by ultrasound,” Lee said.

Organizations advocating for the sanctity of life, like the Susan B. Anthony America Pro-life network, openly condemn those politicians who “refuse to name a single commonsense protection for unborn children and their mothers they would support.”

“When voters are informed about the Democrats’ pro-abortion extremism, they reject it,” Dannenfelser said.
