A Democrat member of Congress from Dallas has drawn criticism for taking a jab at the Texas governor and the fact that he is in a wheelchair in remarks at a Human Rights Campaign dinner Saturday. The remarks went viral Tuesday.
In the context of thanking the pro-LGBTQ rights organization’s board member, Morgan Cox, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, mocked Republican Gov. Greg Abbott for being disabled.
“Thank you so much, Morgan, because we in these hot-a– Texas streets, honey,” Crockett said. “Y’all know we got Governor Hot Wheels down there. Come on, now! And the only thing hot about him is that he is a hot-a– mess, honey.”
