Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH) conceded over the weekend that the U.S. southern border is in a serious crisis under President Joe Biden, whom she refused to call the party’s best option for 2024.
Hassan made the remarks during a Sunday interview with Kristen Welker on NBC News’s “Meet The Press” while discussing New Hampshire’s presidential primary election this week.
When asked if Biden was “the strongest and best candidate to take on” the Republican nominee this fall, Hassan repeatedly declined to answer the question.
“Look, we will be talking about his record,” she said. “We have more work to do, to be sure. Things are too expensive, especially housing and healthcare.”
