Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed Democrats during an interview this week for being willing to destroy the U.S. justice system just so they can win elections and stay in power.
Cruz made the remarks during his “Verdict” podcast with co-host Ben Ferguson while discussing last week’s guilty verdict that a Manhattan jury doled out in District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s criminal trial against former President Donald Trump.
“If you contrast America to banana republics, the difference is you have the rule of law,” he said. “The difference is you don’t do this. And these democrats, they hate Trump so much they don’t care.
