‘Don’t Climb Onto Anything, OK?’

Philadelphia Democratic Mayor Cherelle Parker pleaded to residents ahead of this Sunday’s Super Bowl, urging fans to tone down their celebration antics if the Eagles are victorious.

“Please Philadelphia, I implore you, as your mayor, do not climb light poles,” she said at a press conference on Thursday night. 

The request comes a little less than two weeks after the Eagles clinched the NFC Championship, leading to huge celebrations across the city that resulted in an 18-year-old Temple University student dying after falling from a light pole. The police department issued 31 citations for disorderly conduct and failure to disburse, per the New York Post.

“For your mayor, please, just don’t climb onto anything, OK? That’s our Golden Rule,” Parker added, using a stern tone. “This comes up every time we have an outdoor celebration after our Philly teams win,” she said….
