“Dr. Who” star David Tennant demanded a British politician “shut up” because of her support of women’s rights over transgender activists and said he wished she didn’t “exist anymore.”
During Tennant’s recent acceptance speech at the British LGBT Awards, the actor called out British equalities minister Kemi Badenoch because she’s spoken up about women’s rights against trans-indentifying males, Deadline reported.
“Until we wake up and Kemi Badenoch doesn’t exist anymore – I don’t wish ill of her, I just wish her to shut up – whilst we do live in this world, I am honored to receive this [award],” Tennant said.
Badenoch — who has advocated for banning trans-identifying males from entering women’s spaces and female sports — hit back and replied on X that she would not remain quiet, the outlet noted.
