Early Election Day Musings and Hello, Wisconsin! – HotAir

Today’s the day in a couple of places, and by day, I mean balanced on the edge of a knife Election Day.

Here in Florida, our own Congressional District 1 is up for grabs in a special election to fill the seat left vacant when Matt Gaetz resigned. FL CFO Jimmy Patronis is the Republican running and, while it’s never a given, I have to believe he’ll pull it off. He has name recognition, a Trump endorsement, and a dyed-in-the-wool Republican district (46% GOP – 29% DEM – 20% NPA). 





One thing will shoot us down faster than anything, though, and that’s complacency. Gay Valmont, his whackjob Dem opponent, has been outspending Patronis something like 7 to 1, and her supporters are banging away at doors, including mine, twice.

Early voting ended this past Saturday, and so far, it’s been almost a 19% turnout in Escambia County, with the GOP slightly ahead in the vote…
