From Butler, Pennsylvania to Washington DC

There are very few times in our lives when an event occurs, and we remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when it happened. For my parents’ generation, that event was the assassination of John F. Kennedy. I was a sophomore in high school when Ronald Reagan was shot, and incredibly, was able to crack a joke, asking the doctors, “I hope you are all Republicans.” But I am not sure that anything could have prepared us for July 13, 2024, exactly six months ago today, and the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. It is another day that, regardless of your political stripe, if you are an American, you should remember where you were.
