The man inside a Tesla Cybertruck packed with explosives who died when it exploded outside President-elect Donald Trump’s Las Vegas hotel on New Year’s Day has been identified as a former Green Beret who had served at the same U.S. Army base as the terrorist who killed at least 15 people in New Orleans the same day.
Law enforcement officials identified the man in the rented Cybertruck as Matthew Livelsberger, a U.S. Army veteran since 2006 who had served in Afghanistan and Ukraine, Tajikistan, Georgia, and Congo. He had served at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, although not at the same time as Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, who rammed his truck into New Year’s revelers in New Orleans’ French Quarter.
