The leaders of the G7 urged Israel to show “restraint” when responding to Iran’s Islamic regime firing 180+ ballistic missiles at Israel this week.
The G7 — Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States — condemned “in the strongest terms Iran’s direct military attack against Israel, which constitutes a serious threat to regional stability.”
The group said that Iran’s use of terrorist proxy groups throughout the region needed to stop, but warned against “retaliation” that it argued “risks fueling uncontrollable escalation in the Middle East, which is in no one’s interest.”
“Therefore, we call on all regional players to act responsibly and with restraint,” the statement said. “We encourage all parties to engage constructively to de-escalate the current tensions.”
