A House Republican has unveiled a bill that would pave the way for President-elect Donald Trump to make a deal for the acquisition of Greenland for the United States.
The legislation from Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) comes after Trump revived talk about how the U.S. should take control of Greenland, a territory controlled by Denmark, for “the purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the world.”
Fox News obtained a copy of the bill, labeled the “Make Greenland Great Again Act,” following a social media post from Trump that employed the phrase. The bill would “authorize the President to seek to enter into negotiations with the Kingdom of Denmark to secure the acquisition of Greenland by the United States.”
