Maryland Democratic Governor Wes Moore, a rising star in the Democratic Party, said on Sunday he is a “loyalty person” who felt compelled to privately inform President Joe Biden that other people wanted him to drop out of the 2024 race.
Martha Raddatz, co-anchor of ABC’s “This Week,” pressed Moore on whether he began to lose faith in Biden over the past few weeks since a poor debate performance led fellow Democrats to increasingly urge the president to bow out while citing concerns about his age, mental health, and electability.
“You had been a very strong supporter of Joe Biden staying in the race just a few days after that disastrous debate, saying he is not going to take himself out of the race, nor should he. Did your concerns grow as the weeks went on?” Raddatz asked.
