Right now, there are Republicans who have been convicted and sent to jail for refusing to comply with Congressional subpoenas.
We have been endlessly told that if you do so, you should be held in contempt and go to jail, and if you are a Republican that is bound to happen.

Not so, though, if you are a Democrat. In fact, the Justice Department will run cover for you, ignore criminal referrals, and in the case of Merrick Garland who was just held in contempt, write elegant and unpersuasive memos explaining why the rules don’t apply to Democrats.
