In Final Midterm Stretch, Democrats Focus On ‘Election Deniers,’ Abortion, And Concert Ticket Fees

In the final days of the midterm elections, for some reason, Democratic leaders are focusing on dastardly “election deniers,” abortion, and even concert ticket fees.

Threats to democracy and the issue of abortion rank toward the bottom of what voters are most concerned about. Concert ticket fees, supposedly, are lumped into addressing inflation by President Joe Biden.

On Wednesday, former President Barack Obama told Arizonans that the country as we know it may not survive if Democrats do not win next Tuesday.

“If you’ve got election deniers serving as your governor, as your senator, as your secretary of state, as your attorney general, then democracy as we know it may not survive in Arizona,” Obama said in The Grand Canyon State.

“That’s not an exaggeration,” he threw in for good measure. “That is a fact.”

His former number two in command and current president echoed those sentiments Wednesday evening.

“American democracy is under attack because the defeated former president of the United States refused to accept the results of the 2020 election, he refuses to accept the will of the people, he refuses to accept the fact that he lost,” Biden claimed. “He’s abused his power and put loyalty to himself before loyalty to the Constitution.”

Perhaps to the chagrin of the president and his allies, American voters are concerned with threats to democracy — but believe that legacy media are to blame for its downfall.

According to an October New York Times/Siena poll, 59% of Americans who believe that democracy is under threat say that the legacy media presents a “major threat.”

Folks like Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) are opting instead to tout their support for keeping abortion access open so that women can terminate their children who have birth defects in the womb.

In one of his final ads, Warnock featured a woman who did just that when her son was diagnosed with Edward’s syndrome.

Morality aside, abortion just isn’t what Georgia voters are concerned with, according to polls. Warnock’s Democratic colleague Stacey Abrams, who is running for governor, was asked about this issue a few weeks ago. Abrams claims, though, that voters are only worried about things such as inflation because they are having children.

“I would assume, maybe incorrectly, that while abortion is an issue, it nowhere reaches the level of interest in voters such as the cost of gas, food, bread, milk, things like that,” MSNBC anchor Mike Barnicle asked Abrams. “What could you do as governor to alleviate concerns of Georgia voters about the livability, daily, hourly issues that they’re confronted with?”

Children — not Democratic policies — are causing economic angst, she said.

“But let’s be clear, having children is why you’re worried about your price for gas, it’s why you’re concerned about how much food costs,” Abrams rebutted, claiming that abortion is not a “reductive issue” for women.

Abrams might not want to focus on expensive goods, but the good news for Americans is that Biden is intent on bringing prices down. You only have to spend thousands of dollars to weatherize your home or buy an electric vehicle to “save” any money under Biden.

“We’re making real progress [on inflation],” Biden said. “And by the way, a lot of it is going to kick in beginning in January because we passed this profound legislation on the environment … Providing $68 billion to deal with global warming … weatherizing their homes, solar panels.”

On Thursday, the president also exemplified to the country how he feels their pain.

“I know hidden junk fees – like processing fees on concert tickets – are a pain,” he tweeted. “They’re unfair, deceptive, and add up.”

Have no fear, Biden is here.

“That’s why, last week, I called on my Administration to crack down on these fees and put that money back in your pocket,” he claimed.

So, if you’re waking up in a panic about the supposedly ongoing threat of January 6, want to keep abortion legal through all nine months of pregnancy, and are mad as hell about having to cough up extra cash just to see The Who on their current “The Who Hits Back!” nationwide tour, then the Democratic Party has your back.

If you live in the real world, it seems obvious who you should vote for come next Tuesday.
