Indie screenwriter and director Jeff Baena died Friday at age 47 in Los Angeles. The cause of death remains unknown at this time.
A spokesperson for Baena confirmed his death, Variety reported. Baena, the husband of “White Lotus” and “Parks and Recreation” actress Aubrey Plaza, is best known for his work on “The Little Hours,” and “Life After Beth,” which starred Plaza.
The pair wed on their 10th anniversary in 2021, in an impromptu backyard ceremony.
He is survived by Plaza; his mother, Barbara Stern; his stepfather, Roger Stern; his father, Scott Baena; his stepmother, Michele Baena; his brother, Brad Baena; and his stepsiblings, Bianca Gabay and Jed Fluxman.
