President Joe Biden appeared with California Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday to deliver remarks on the devastating Los Angeles-area wildfires. Unsurprising, those remarks turned out to be inappropriate and tone-deaf.

Standing in front of a large television, the president brought up his son Hunter Biden, who he recently pardoned, noting that his house didn’t seem to be affected by the fires. He then said, “The good news is, I’m a great-grandfather,” referring to his granddaughter recently giving birth. What that has to do with the devastating wildfires that are still ravaging parts of Los Angeles was not immediately apparent.
Biden uses a California wildfire briefing to announce he’s a great-grandfather — making it all about himself, as usual. Disgraceful.
