Rep. Lauren Boebert’s son was arrested on multiple criminal charges Tuesday. When the story became public on Wednesday, Boebert (R-CO) remained silent. Senator John Fetterman, (D-PA) spoke up for her.
Fetterman, once viewed as a run-of-the-mill progressive Democrat more in line with The Squad, keeps proving he is not. He said recently that he is a moderate Democrat, and has never been a progressive when asked about criticism from the far-left. At the time that remark was met with skeptism.
Fetterman posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Boebert’s son, who is 18, doesn’t deserve to be the subject of ridicule and ugliness on social media. Tyler Boebert didn’t sign up for a life in the public’s eye. He doesn’t deserve “the recreational cruelty” on social media.
This is a family in crisis and the recreational cruelty I see on social media needs to be out of bounds.
