JOURNOS SCREECH: GOP’s ‘Party of Inhumanity’ Can Only Be Stopped by ‘Courageous’ Biden

When GOP governors — whose states have been overwhelmed by illegal immigration — began sending immigrants to so-called “sanctuary” cities and states (run by liberals) the media screeched along with hypocritical Democrats as they accused them of “human trafficking” as they damned the GOP as the “party of inhumanity.”

MSNBCers like Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski, and Mehdi Hasan labeled the GOP governors and their Republican supporters as “unbelievably sick and coldhearted” for engaging in “grotesque” and illegal “kidnapping.”

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden was hailed as “courageous” for his condemnation of “fascist” Republicans and any concerns about Biden’s bumbling speeches were excused by the likes of NBC News correspondent Yamiche Alcindor who proclaimed “the future of our democracy is on the line.”

Hollywood got into the act as well. Comedian Kathy Griffin tweeted: “If you don’t want a Civil War, vote for Democrats in November.” The Civil War documentarian Ken Burns spent this month promoting his new PBS-funded series The U.S. and the Holocaust and actually linked DeSantis to that horrific period as he accused the Florida Governor of weaponizing “human beings for a political purpose.”

The following are just some of the most outrageous outbursts from lefty journalists and celebrities from the month of September:

“Sick” GOP Is the “Party of Inhumanity”

“You’re going to be the party that forces a child to bear a child of its rapist? That’s number one. That’s your party. You’re going to be the party that thinks owning weapons of war should be free and easy for everybody in an age where our children are getting slaughtered on a regular basis….And now, you’re in the party that thinks it’s funny….to mislead fathers, mothers, and babies who have fled oppression in their country, walked through many countries to get here to America to seek asylum….That must be cool, to be so unbelievably sick and coldhearted. That is the Republican Party today. It’s the party of inhumanity.”
— Co-host Mika Brzezinksi on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, September 21.

Prosecute GOP Governors for Kidnapping!

“Flinging unwanted brown people across the country is now the bigotry de jure for aspiring GOP 2024 presidential candidates. Seeking to outshine proud, Christian, fierce, Bible-lover, noted family man Greg Abbott man this week was proud, Christian, fierce, Bible-lover, noted family man Ron DeSantis, who dipped into his state’s $12 million anti-immigration fund to relocate not asylum seekers from his own state, but asylum seekers from a thousand miles away in Texas and relocate them to the remote island enclave of Martha’s Vineyard….He effectively kidnapped these people, luring them onto planes with promises of jobs and expedited visas and free housing in Boston….If that’s not what a lot of people would call human trafficking, I don’t know what is…..The cruelty, the cynicism is unfathomable.”
— Host Mehdi Hasan on MSNBC’s The Mehdi Hasan Show, September 18.

GOP Governors Engage In “Grotesque” “Human Trafficking”

“It is grotesque to grab these people, throw them on buses, drive them up to, to, to Washington, D.C., and just drop them outside of an official residence, the Vice President’s residence. It’s grotesque what they’re doing with these human beings. This is political human trafficking.”
— Co-host Joe Scarborough on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, September 16

Abbott and DeSantis “Put the Segregationists” to “Shame”

“The scenes we’re seeing in Martha’s Vineyard strike, frankly, too familiar a chord….They echo something that happened some 60 years of our past. Back to something called the ‘Reverse Freedom Rides.’ And maybe you’ve never heard of what this is. You certainly heard of Freedom Riders, right? But the Freedom Rides in the Reverse, were Black families who were tricked by white supremacists. They were lured by the promise of a job or a better home and they were bused to Hyannis, Massachusetts, right near John F. Kennedy’s holiday home. Now, the numbers, racked up by Governors Abbott and DeSantis put the segregationists of that dark period, well, frankly, to shame in the numbers alone.”
— Host Laura Coates on CNN Tonight, September 16.

MSNBCer: Conservatives Could Reclassify Me As 3/5ths Of A Person!

“Folks have been saying for years, we need to have a constitutional convention to add in a balanced budget amendment….But once the convention is called….all of our rights are then on the table! … Any rights that have been granted under the Constitution, even as an amendment, such as granting full U.S. citizenship to the former slaves, would be up for grabs in a constitutional convention! And with the way folks are acting right now, I wouldn’t put it past them during the constitutional convention to go back to calling me three-fifths of a person.”
— Host Jonathan Capehart on MSNBC’s The Sunday Show with Jonathan Capehart, September 18.

Joy Reid Compares DeSantis Mask Policy to Whipping up Race Riots

“Yelling at kids because they have masks on to protect themselves. Suing cruise lines because they would dare to try to stop COVID from getting on the ships with the passengers. The things that he [Florida Governor Ron DeSantis] does don’t have policy priorities. They definitely to me feel more like sort of 1960s-era whipping up a mob at the University of Mississippi because James Meredith was coming and then cheering it on as four people are killed in that mob.”
— Host Joy Reid on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, September 22.

Did You Vote for Trump? Repent Sinner!

“I do think people who supported Trump and who enabled Trump do have something to apologize for and do have a lot to repent for.”|
— PuckNews.com Founding Partner and Washington correspondent Julia Ioffe on HBO’s Real Time Overtime with Bill Maher, September 16.

Pro-Lifers Just a Bunch of Chauvinist Men

“Do you see the Republican zeal to control a woman’s body as an extension of that chauvinism, obviously pro-life groups will tell you this is about protecting the sanctity of unborn life, but do you see the same sort of chauvinism and misogyny that gives rise to the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers, do you see in an extension of that in the Dobbs decision related to state abortion bans?”
— Host Alex Wagner to Anita Hill on MSNBC’s Alex Wagner Tonight, September 27.

GOP’s Threat to Democracy More Important Than Biden’s Advanced Age Issues

“The key issue will be whether or not them [Democratic and independent voters] thinking President Biden is too old outweighs them thinking that the future of our democracy is on the line. When I talk to voters, even Democrats who say Biden, he’s a little slower, he’s a little bit quieter, I’m not sure if I want to back him. When they think about the state of our democracy, they’re like that’s the bigger issue here.”
— NBC News Washington correspondent Yamiche Alcindor on NBC’s Meet the Press, September 11.

Spinning Befuddled Biden’s Blunders

“Joe Biden is among the longest-serving politicians in Washington. If there is less bounce in the step than there once was, if the words don’t flow like they used to, maybe there’s something to be said for knowhow, five decades on the Hill and in the Oval…You have lived a long life of triumph and tragedy. In November, you’ll be 80. And I wonder what it is that keeps you in the arena.”
— Correspondent Scott Pelley in an interview with President Joe Biden on 60 Minutes, September 18.

Be Afraid “Right Wing,” Be Very Afraid of AOC

“The right wing’s night terror in the flesh. To many foot soldiers of the fractured, contradictory coalition that is the progressive left, she [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] represents something singular: the future. A revolutionary on the rise. The clear heir to an ascendant progressive movement. The best and possibly last — depending on how quickly some combination of fascism, religious fundamentalism, and climate change comes for us all — chance; a source of hope that things can get better in their lifetimes.”
— Former Washington Post and CBS News correspondent Wesley Lowery in a September 7 GQ profile of Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Democrats Need to Realize They Are “At War” with “Evil” “Deranged” Republicans

“We are at war with these people. These folks are evil. They have allowed evil into their house with Donald Trump. He has now dominated the party. This evil is spreading. And when you are in a war footing, you have to respond accordingly. It’s about time President Joe Biden decided to get tough. It’s about time his advisers stopped being weak, and stopped being impotent, and not fighting back.  Well, guess what Democrats? Guess what Biden? Guess what Jaime Harrison, Schumer, Pelosi, and everyone else. You keep hitting! You keep pounding.  Because this is about the future of our children. I’ve got 13 nieces and nephews. And I be damned if I’m gonna leave a country for them run by these crazed, deranged folks who want to import evil in every facet of our society.”
— Former CNN contributor Roland S. Martin on MSNBC’s The Cross Connection, September 3.

“Courageous” Biden Calls Out “Dangerous” “Fascist” Republicans

“I think he [Joe Biden] correctly identified a strain within MAGA world….There are very few words to describe what Republicans are doing….Book bans, having students turn in teachers for wokeism….Really chilling stuff. Stuff you see in fascist countries, Republicans have adopted….The party is going in a very bad place. And more and more candidates that are running all across the country for really important positions, like secretaries of state and attorneys general, want to do some really dangerous things….He [Biden] was going to get blamed for, you know, and take some heat for using correct words to describe what’s happening. But he was, I think, courageous to do so.”
— CNN’s Unfiltered host S.E. Cupp on PBS’s Amanpour and Company, September 2.

Red States Have Ushered In a “Totalitarian State” Worse Than The Handmaid’s Tale

Host Ali Velshi: “When you wanted to write about an authoritarian, totalitarian state, you wondered what form it would take. And back in 1985 when you wrote this [The Handmaid’s Tale], you thought it would be a theocracy. In 2022, totalitarianism and authoritarianism are in better shape than they were when you wrote it….It’s a dystopian novel — it’s about a future that could be bad…. bad for women but really bad for everyone, bad for democracy, bad for society….Do you feel better or worse about the future in 2022 than you did in 1985?”
Author Margaret Atwood: “Oh, it’s going a lot worse.”

NOAA National Hurricane Center Acting Director Jamie Rohme: “Well, we can come back and talk about climate change at a later time. I want to focus on the here and now.”…
Lemon: “What effect does climate change have on this phenomenon that — that is happening now. Because it seems these storms are intensifying. That’s the question here.”
Rohme: “I don’t think you can link climate change to any one event.”…
Lemon: “Listen, I grew up there and these storms are intensifying. Something is causing them to intensify.”
— CNN Don Lemon Tonight, September 27.

Jimmy Carter Smarter Than Reagan, Who Never Opened “A Single Book”

Host Walter Isaacson: “You say he didn’t know anything. But let me just ask you, it seems like an odd question, who was smarter, Ronald Reagan or Jimmy Carter?”
PBS humorist Andy Borowitz: “Oh, clearly, Jimmy Carter….One thing I think that’s really important is how much intellectual curiosity you have. And that’s usually reflected in how much you read. And people like Jimmy Carter read a ton. Harry Truman read a ton. Ronald Reagan didn’t open a single book….I think he was very successful in getting his agenda through….That agenda was, unfortunately, was very redolent of his own ignorance. He let the AIDS crisis spiral out of control because he was very unaware of what AIDS was or what it meant. He really created homelessness in this country because he thought that….the homeless just want to live outside.”
— PBS’s Amanpour and Company, September 24.

Only Way to Remove “Stench” of Supreme Court Is to Pack It with Libs

“[Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor] said that the Supreme Court won’t survive the stench of overturning Roe v. Wade, before they overturned it….She said, ‘will this institution survive the stench this creates in the public perception that the Constitution and its reading are just political acts? I don’t see how it is possible.’ And we all now know that she probably had some insight into the fact that Roe v. Wade was going to be overturned, and I don’t know how they get rid of the stench without packing the Court.”
— Co-host Sunny Hostin on ABC’s The View, September 12.

“60 to 70 Percent of Republicans” Are Racist White Supremacists

If you are saying he is a white supremacist, what are they? If you are saying that he is racist, what are they? Because if you follow someone that has hate in their heart, and I believe that he does, then you are complicit in that. And you don’t get a pass on it. You do not get a pass on that.”

“Authoritarian” DeSantis Weaponizing “Human Beings”

Host John Berman: “Your documentaries are about history, but all of them also make you think about where we are now. We woke up to the news this morning that governor Ron DeSantis of Florida sent two plane loads of migrants to Martha’s Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts, including kids and whatnot. And I’m not saying….this is not a one for one, not a parallel here in any way, but it does address some of the same themes that are part of this [Holocaust] documentary.”
Documentarian Ken Burns: “It’s the abstraction of human life. It’s basically saying that you can use a human life that is as valuable as yours or mine….and to put it in a position of becoming a political pawn in somebody’s authoritarian game.
