MSNBC host Joy Reid attempted to set a rhetorical trap for her guest — an Israeli official — and ended up mired in it herself when she suggested that Israeli forces would employ a different strategy if they were targeting Hamas terrorists in Israel rather than in Gaza.
Reid set up the question to Mark Regev, former Israeli Ambassador to the United Kingdom, asking whether Israel would “drop 2,000-pound bombs” on a hospital inside their own borders to take out a Hamas leader — with the implication being that Israel cared less about collateral damage and the possibility of civilian casualties when the civilians were Palestinians.
