Vice President Kamala Harris and many others released statements on Sunday reacting to the shooting at Donald Trump‘s golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, while the former president was hitting the links.
Authorities said they believe a gunman, who fled the scene when the Secret Service opened fire on him, intended to assassinate Trump. A suspect has been taken into custody. Trump previously survived a shooting in July.
Trump released a defiant statement to supporters on Sunday, declaring, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!”
He added, “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER! I will always love you for supporting me. Unity. Peace. Make America Great Again.”
