Leftist journalist Ken Klippenstein published a lengthy, hacked dossier on Ohio Sen. JD Vance on Thursday, resulting in X suspending Klippenstein’s account.
The dossier potentially came from Trump campaign materials that the Iranian regime obtained through hacking. Iran has given Trump campaign materials to multiple outlets, journalists, and organizations that had, until Thursday, refused to publish the materials.
Elon Musk, who owns X, said in a social media post on Thursday that he banned Klippenstein’s account over the decision to publish the Vance dossier.
“This is one of the most egregious, evil doxxing actions we’ve ever seen. Presidential candidates are not speculatively in danger – there have already been two attempts on @realDonaldTrump’s life. Moreover, the doxxing included detailed information on the addresses of their children,” Musk said.
