A San Francisco-based judge has ruled against the Trump administration, stopping the removal of temporary protective status for hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans. The original executive order was set to go into effect the second week of April. That has now been put on hold, with protections from removal and work permits extended under Judge Edward M. Chen’s order.
There’s a pretty big issue, though. It appears that the federal judge from the Northern District of California violated the law with his decision.
