The Science Museum in London is getting dragged on social media due to a tour they have which promotes the idea that Lego blocks can be anti-LGBT by reinforcing “heteronormative” relationships.
The London attraction is running a self-guided tour called “Seeing Things Queerly,” per The Daily Mail. This tour is said to explore “stories of queer communities, experiences and identities” in the museum’s collection.
The tour was created by a “gender and sexuality network” at the museum, the outlet noted, which includes staff and volunteers who promote visibility and inclusion for the LGBT community. The guide was published on the museum’s blog more than two years ago, but just now went viral after The Telegraph published an article today about the tour and its claims.
One of their complaints has to do with Lego bricks being “described in a gendered way.”
