Marvel Drops Jonathan Majors After Conviction

Marvel Studios cut ties with Jonathan Majors shortly after a New York jury found the actor guilty of reckless assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend on Monday.

A spokesperson for the studio confirmed the firing to Deadline and other news outlets, but did not provide any further comment.

Majors, who is now 34, graduated from the Yale School of Drama and established himself as a rising Hollywood star in recent years with roles in HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” and “Creed III,” part of the spinoff franchise that came out of the “Rocky” series.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which is under the Disney banner, Majors played various iterations of Kang the Conqueror in the Disney-Plus show “Loki” and the movie “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.” The powerful character was being established as the next main villain of the Marvel series, with an upcoming movie —…
