When is a crisis not a crisis? When you call it something else, of course. And that’s still the strategy that Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas is taking when it comes to the Biden border crisis. During an appearance on 60 Minutes this weekend he was actually asked by a reporter whether or not the situation on the Mexican border was “a crisis.” He said he viewed it as “a significant challenge.” He also attempted to explain his language, saying that calling it a crisis would suggest “a withdrawal from our mission.” But that seems to be the prevailing strategy at the White House and has been since Joe Biden took office.
