Megyn Kelly compared transgender surgery to female genital mutilation that’s happening to young girls in radical Islamic communities, calling it a “form of abuse.”
During the Sirius XM “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast Monday, the host spoke with political commentator Andrew Sullivan about the extremes of so-called “gender affirming care” promoted by leftist groups. The two talked about surgeries on minors, including breast removal, mastectomies, and “genital surgeries” on children in their early teens.
“Fifty-six genital surgeries among patients ages 13-17 over the past few years, that’s horrifying,” Kelly explained, quoting a recent article by Sullivan. “On minors, on minors. As Abigail Shrier’s book calls it ‘irreversible damage’ can happen just with hormones never mind surgeries.’”
Kelly then provided graphic details describing how a young girl effectively loses their arm when doctors “hack your forearm up…to create a penis.” She went on to explain how cross-gender hormones can allow a biological female to “grow a small penis” from their female body parts that “will not work the way a normal one works.”

“Like something out of a horror film,” the host said. “None of this is understood by these girls being told, ‘yeah, yeah you’re a boy, you’re a boy.’ And by the way gender dysphoria traditionally only affected males..not the other way around. So, all of this is alarming.”
Sullivan said some of the surgeries result in the inability to have an orgasm.
“To me, removing from a human, any human the ability to have an orgasm is such an invasion of someone’s sexual being,” Sullivan explained. “Of someone’s personal being. It’s not something you would do lightly.”
Kelly then brought the conversation back to Sullivan’s comments about genital mutilation.
“When we were talking about the genital mutilation, that’s what it is, either by hormone or by surgery and you were talking about the orgasm issue it reminded me of genital mutilation that is done in the radical Islamic population to young girls in the name of religion,” said Kelly.
“Andrew, this feels akin to that in some ways,” she added. “Where we are allowing parents to mutilate the genitals of these children…but it’s also a sort of form of religion, this like radical trans ideology of ‘my child has said it, therefore it is true. And I’m a bigot if I don’t take it to its extreme.’”
“Or even worse, the parents who start at ground zero refusing to accept a boy or a girl from a doctor in a nursery instead actually calling their child a ‘theybe’ and saying ‘they’ll figure out their gender as they age,’” Kelly continued. “It is a form of abuse…I just see the two on parallel lines.”
