Diplomacy, at times, is the art of saying “nice doggie, nice doggie,” until you can find a rock. Israel has a history of this kind of diplomacy, but if they had a rock in their hand, they have been asked to kindly set it down and go on saying “nice doggie.” Speaking on Wednesday in the White House, President Trump confirmed that he, shall we say, advised Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu against striking at Iran.
The president has his reasons.
