If a left-winger is foolish enough to tangle with Fox News host Greg Gutfeld, he or she better be at the top of his or her game. Welp, it turns out that ever-smug NPR “Weekend Edition Saturday” host Scott Simon was neither at the top of his game nor anywhere in the ballpark when he interviewed the King of Late Night.
Simon began by noting Gutfeld’s ratings, although he added a caveat as if to qualify them:
Greg Gutfeld dominates late-night comedy. His show, “Gutfeld!,” on Fox, airs an hour earlier than his rivals but has a larger audience than those of Colbert, Kimmel, Fallon or “The Daily Show.”
Simon then began to smear Gutfeld and his comedic style (emphasis, mine):
I bet you’ve read and heard some of the labels applied to your comedy — insult conservatism, mean, provocative. Do you want to give us another label? What do you think of those?
