So have you ever picked up a prescription — for yourself, an elderly parent, or whomever — and first been shocked by the cost, then rolled it around in your mind for a bit, trying to figure out how on God’s green earth it cost that much? Me, too — along with tens of millions of other Americans.
Look, I understand the tens of millions of dollars, if not billions in some cases, that pharmaceutical companies invest in years of research and development before bringing prescription drugs to market, but at what point are those costs recouped, and more importantly from a consumer’s perfective, when is the price reduced — or should be — accordingly?
