In the world of politics, when your side and your ideas are getting the living crud kicked out of them, you desperately look for any sliver of hope to latch onto. It’s like if your boat sank and you were looking for something that’s floating to hold you up. The Democrat Party in the United States right now is in that position, desperately looking for something to grab onto after the November defeat of Kamala Harris and the election of Donald Trump.
