Among country music star Waylon Jennings’s many hits, “I’ve Always Been Crazy” (But It’s Kept Me From Going Insane) was among my favorites. While being crazy might have kept Waylon from going insane, Democrat strategist James “Ragin’ Cajun'” Carville was to enjoy no such fortune.
Perfect case in point:
Carville said during the Politics War Room podcast on Thursday that the Republican Party backs Israel because conservatives are racist and Jews are “whiter” than Palestinians, therefore much more deserving of support. No, really.
It’s really about the misogyny and the racism that drives the thing, and we got to recognize that. It’s not about any policy prescription. And the reason I suspect that most of these people describe themselves as pro-Israel is because the Jews are whiter than the Palestinians, which I think drives a lot of what they are.
