Rapper Kid Cudi, real name Scott Mescudi, took the stand during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial on Thursday to testify for the prosecution.
The 41-year-old Grammy Award winner described an incident involving his Porsche being damaged by an explosive device, which he claimed was orchestrated by Combs as retaliation for Mescudi dating the rapper’s on-again, off-again girlfriend, Cassie Ventura.
During her testimony last week, Ventura said Combs had threatened to blow up Mescudi’s car when he found out the two were romantically involved.
The jury was shown images of Mescudi’s damaged car.
Mescudi said he received a phone call from Ventura in December 2011 during which she sounded “stressed, nervous, and scared” about Combs discovering they had been seeing each other. He said later that day, Combs’ former assistant called to inform him that Combs was inside his house.
