No matter how much I might disagree with a person, I am unlikely to call that person a “heartless monster” and/or “terrorist,” especially when that person happens to be a United States combat veteran.
Rep. Brian Mast (R-Fla.) is a U.S. Army combat veteran, having served in Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom. Stepping on an IED in September 2010 “as he cleared a lane for Rangers during an attack in the Arghandab District of Kandahar” cost him both legs. In January 2015 he volunteered with the IDF, and was stationed just outside of Tel Aviv, “where he packed medical kits and moved supplies around, including some heavy lifting.”
