Ricky Gervais responded with two words on Sunday after someone on Twitter suggested the comedian host the 2023 Golden Globes awards show.
“F*** that,” the 61-year-old British actor tweeted, along with a crying/laughing face emoji, in response to a tweet that read, “[Retweet] if you wish @rickygervais would host the golden globes again in 2023.”
The post also included just a smidge of the hilariously brutal NSFW comments he made during his performance in 2020 when he was emcee of the annual show.

Earlier this year, “The Office” star reportedly told an audience in London that he “wouldn’t have made a joke about” Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head if he had hosted the Oscars, but would have made wisecracks about “her boyfriend” instead.
“I’ll get it out of the way,” the “Ghost Town” star shared. “I have not got any Will Smith material. I trended when that happened and I was not even there.”
“What has it got to do with me?” he added. “People were going ‘What would have happened if Ricky Gervais had been doing it (hosting Oscars)?”
“Well, nothing as I would not have made a joke about his wife’s hair,” Gervais continued. “I would have made a joke about her boyfriend.”
The “After Life” star famously hosted the Globes five times, with his opening monologue from 2020 going viral after he took a sledgehammer to celebrities and big tech companies for their hypocrisy.
The uncensored monologue from the 2020 Golden Globes can be seen below with cuts from Gervais’s no-holds-barred segments.

To open the show, Gervais said it would be last time he planned to host the Golden Globes or any awards shows, sharing that he doesn’t “care anymore. I’m joking. I never did. I’m joking, I never did. NBC clearly don’t care either — fifth time. I mean, Kevin Hart was fired from the Oscars for some offensive tweets — hello?”
He closed out the segment by telling stars not to use the platform to “make a political speech” noting that they weren’t in any position to “lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.”
“So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your God and f*** off, OK?” Gervais added.
